How does an official guided tour of the Eiffel Tower work?

The official guided tours of the Eiffel Tower offer a unique experience of exploring the monument in the company of a member of the Eiffel Tower family. History, architecture, anecdotes… Your visit will be more enriching and enjoyable, in a small group (12 people maximum), thanks to your guide who will be with you every step of the way. The duration of the guided tour, ranging from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, depends on the package you choose.

There are three official guided tour packages available in French and English, sold exclusively online through the Eiffel Tower’s official ticketing site at the best official rate (guided tours offered on third-party websites are not official guided tours):

Up to the 2nd floor: starting at 26 euros
From the plaza, your guide will accompany you to the second floor for a guided tour lasting approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Then, they’ll direct you to the stairs to reach the 1st floor.

Up to the 2nd floor with access to the summit: starting at 29.20 euros

From the plaza, your guide will lead you up to the 2nd floor for a 1-hour tour; you’ll then continue on your own to the summit at your own pace. On your way back, be sure to explore the 1st floor.

Up to the summit: starting at 34.20 euros

This is the most comprehensive option: the guide accompanies you from the plaza all the way to the summit, covering the entire route, for a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. After the tour, the guide will accompany you to the stairs leading to the first floor.

Prices vary depending on your category (adult, youth, or child).

Your Tour Itinerary

Before the tour: Plan your arrival time

Before meeting your guide on the plaza, you’ll need to go through security checks at the site entrance: allow 10 to 20 minutes by using the line reserved for Official Guided Tours (Entrance 1). Once you arrive on the plaza, meet your guide at the meeting point located near the Information Desk. Be sure to arrive on time—15 minutes before the time indicated on your ticket—as the tour begins at the time specified on the ticket.

During the tour: the Tower’s history as told by your guide

Regardless of the tour option you’ve chosen, your guide will ensure you have priority access to the elevators and will share the Tower’s history with you throughout the tour, as well as explain its day-to-day operations.

After the tour: extend the experience

Once the guided tour is over, your guide will say goodbye, but you can take some time to explore the accessible floors on your own, depending on your ticket package. Please note: if your guide says goodbye on the 1st floor, you will not be able to go up to the 2nd floor.
